I'm Lucy, I moved to Leeds 4 and a half years ago already !! No idea where that time has gone. I was ready for a change after living in my hometown all my life and Leeds has been the best decision ever, I love it here. Definitely feels like home. I've always absolutely loved eating out and drinking cocktails as well and wanting to document everything I love in life. Moving to Leeds, I was in awe with how many restaurants were on my doorstep. Naturally, I documented every time I ate out in Leeds and one random Sunday morning set up a new Instagram page where I could dump all of this content. I'm so glad I did because it's grown into what it is today and has brought amazing opportunities and people info my life !!
Unfortunately, I don’t get to spend as many mornings in Leeds as I would like to as I’ve normally booked myself out here there and everywhere for weeks, chronic case of never being able to turn plans down. But, if I was in Leeds my idea of the perfect Saturday morning would be heading to a yoga session (which I am yet to commit to properly myself but determined to be a yoga girlie one day) then head to a coffee shop for an oat latte and pastry of some kind, hope for some sun and have a stroll through town.
I do love the Leeds food scene and I'm also a sucker for Italian food so when it comes to a great lunchtime deal one that sticks out for me is Sarto's Friday lunch, where you get two courses for £13.50 !! These guys are up there with my favourite Italian restaurants in Leeds, all of their food is so fresh and tasty.
For me, we would have to start at Home restaurant !! Anyone who already follows me they will have seen me mention Home before and how much I love it there. It's without a doubt the most luxurious and exciting dining experience I've had since moving to Leeds. Moving on from there to Below Stairs bar, they have this really cool but intimate vibe going for them where they serve up cocktails like you've never had them before (a must visit spot for cocktail lovers).
Usually when I'm escaping this city, I'm visiting friends in another so when I'm not doing that, I'm either visiting home which is in the lovely Cheshire countryside or trying to explore the beautiful parts of Yorkshire that surround us because there is so much to see! I recently visited on two separate weekends Haworth and Settle, both really stunning places to see - the list is never ending and I don't think there's a bad choice to make when visiting most parts of Yorkshire!
This is SUCH a hard question but it's got to be somewhere that I am always in the mood for and could never get bored of so it will have to be Thai a Roy Dee. It's my go to for last minute dinner reservations as well as my go to when I want to order takeaway at home. I'm a creature of habit so I'll more than likely always be seen with either a Chicken Panang Curry or a Prawn Pad Thai.
My favourite hidden gem in Leeds is La Taberna - the city's best kept Tapas secret & my favourite Tapas that I've had in Leeds actually! The perfect spot for a first date, which reminds me I need to make another reservation here soon.
